Observaciones y contexto

The students will write an essay of about 100 words telling the story they have created while listening to the music, answering the questions asked by the teacher in the activity Imagine yourself in a place I.

Once the grammatical mistakes have been corrected and analyzed individually, the most repeated mistakes will be discussed in class.

Valaida was called "little Louis". She was proud to be compared to Louis Armstrong (1901-1971), the trumpeter whose solos captivated her. If you listen to the audio recordings of Valaida's solos and Armstrong's, there are parts where you can't tell who is playing.

 - Among other famous trumpet players we highlight:
 a. Clora Bryant, American jazz trumpeter (1927-2019).
 b. Andrea Motis, Spanish trumpeter, jazz saxophonist and singer (1995-)
 c. Ingrid Jensen, Canadian jazz trumpeter (1966-)
 d. Ingrid Rebstock, German trumpet, soloist with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (1971-)
 e. Mireia Farrés, Spanish trumpet player and soloist of the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Catalonia (1980-)
 f. Linda Briceño, Venezuelan trumpet player, singer, composer and producer (1988-)
 g. Maite Hontelé, Dutch salsa trumpet player (1980-)
 h. Selina Ott, first Austrian woman trumpet player to win the ARD International Competition in Munich (1998-).

 - It is also important to highlight:
 i. Lillian Hardin (1898-1971) was an American jazz pianist, as well as composer, arranger and swing singer. She was the second wife of Louis Armstrong, whom she helped in his career decisively.
  j. Bessie Smith (1894-1937), known as the Empress of the blues, was the most popular blues singer of the 1920s and 1930s and the most influential on the singers who followed her.
