“Alice Ball isolated the ethyl ester of chaulmoogra oil, and she made a solution, which, when injected, proved extremely effective on leprosy symptoms. Her chemistry professors were so impressed that upon graduation in June 1915, she was assigned to teach chemistry at the College. By all accounts, she was the first woman to teach any Science at the University of Hawai."

2. a) Realiza un sencillo experimento para ensayar las sustancias solubles en agua. Prepara el material de laboratorio necesario: vasos de precipitados, hornillo o fuente de calor, cucharas o espátulas, diferentes sólidos (café soluble, azúcar, sal y otros) y líquidos (agua, zumo de naranja, aceite, etc.) para realizar varias disoluciones con agua fría, caliente y aceite.

b) Realiza las disoluciones intentando disolver los sólidos y los líquidos en agua fría y caliente. Anota tus resultados y realiza el informe de laboratorio.
