Nuria Oliver, an internationally recognised expert in artificial intelligence, works to ensure that AI developments have a positive social impact. Within AI is the IoT or the internet of things, which brings us closer to the everyday. Let's focus on this. To do so, answer the following questions.
A) Make a list of devices and household appliances that are IoT (Internet of Things). This is a series of everyday objects interconnected through sensors, software and other technological devices to exchange data with other devices and systems via the Internet.
B) Taking these into account, choose one and indicate how it works, i.e., how the sensors transmit information to each other to generate different responses.
C) Make a timeline indicating the main modifications that the chosen object has undergone.
Observations and context
The activity could be extended with a new section, analysing the consequences of the use of personal data in household appliances.
This activity can be linked to the activity in the block of control and robotics on the placement of sensors based on Alicia Asín's projects.
Description
The aim of this activity is to check the technological development undergone in specific products, to find out how the use of the Internet has modified the most common household appliances and its consequences.
