Observations and context
- Interdisciplinary activity with the subject of Geography and History to contextualise the historical moment of the photographer to learn about the 1st World War.
- Christina Broom was not the first British woman to pick up a camera - before her was, for example, the much better known and recognised Julia Margaret Cameron - but she was the first to take to the streets with one. However, despite having taken more than 40,000 photographs, her name and the recognition of her work and her figure go virtually unnoticed by most https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christina_Broom (13/4/2022).

Description
This activity aims to improve written expression by describing photographs taken by Christina Broom.
We will work from the model text on one of the artist's photographs. The students will have to describe the message of the photograph in broad strokes and then the elements that can be seen in it. They will end with a short personal opinion about the photograph.
