After watching the video about the hugging machine, students will choose one of the activities proposed by the teacher. Once it has been written, it will be read to the rest of the class showing the drawings that has been made.

-Jantina Tammes (1871-1947) was a Dutch botanist and geneticist and the first professor of genetics in the Netherlands.  
  
-Rebecca Craighill Lancefield (1895-1981) was a prominent and renowned American microbiologist. She joined the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research in New York in 1918. Her work comprised more than 50 publications over 60 years.  
  
-Rachel Louise Carson (1907-1964) was an American marine biologist and conservationist who, through the publication of Silent Spring in 1962 and other writings, contributed to the initiation of modern environmental awareness.  
    
  
 Other women contemporaries include:  
  
-Dominique G. Homberger (1948- ). American zoologist known for her work on the evolution of complex structures in birds and mammals, and author of a text on vertebrate dissection.  
  
-Alison Jolly (1937-2014). Primatologist known for her studies on the biology of lemurs and for her educational and outreach work on these primates. She was the author of several books aimed at both scientists and the general public and conducted a great deal of field work on lemurs in Madagascar.  
  
-Martha M. Robbins (1967- ). American primatologist, expert in zoology, ecology and biological anthropology. Her studies have focused on the social behavior, reproductive strategies, population dynamics, endocrinology and genetics of gorillas. She worked for the conservation of these endangered great apes.   
  
-María de los Ángeles Alvariño González (1916-2005). Spanish oceanographer, zoologist and professor.

-Lisa Marie Nowak (1963- ). Engineer and former NASA astronaut, who was part of the space shuttle Discovery mission, flight STS-121, as a crew member.  
  
-Susanna Tamaro ( 1957- ). Italian novelist who has also worked as a scientific documentary filmmaker and as an assistant film director.  
  
-Susan Magdalane Boyle (1961- ). Scottish singer who became known in 2009, when she appeared as a contestant in the third season of the British television program Britain's Got Talent. Boyle jumped almost immediately to world fame when she sang I Dreamed a Dream from the musical Les Miserables
