We are going to describe a photograph by American photographer Dorothea Lange (1895-1965). But first, let’s deal with some vocabulary.

El professorat podria dibuixar en la pissarra tants cercles per a emojis com a adjectius de Sentiments i Emocions pretenga presentar a l'alumnat.
(En l'exemple: PLEASED / IN LOVE, EXCITED, SURPRISED, SAD/BLUE/UNHAPPY/, CHEERFUL, DELIGHTED, ANGRY, HILARIOUS, COOL, ASHAMED/EMBARRASSED/SHY, HAPPY).
El professor/professora completaria els cercles amb alguns dels adjectius més comuns (ex. HAPPY / SAD), però deixaria alguns en blanc. L'alumnat treballa en parelles o xicotets grups per a completar-los i s'afanyen a anar a la pissarra per a
a) retolar els que el professorat ha dibuixat, així com

When was this photo taken? (En aquest punt el professor/professora hauria d'introduir alguns elements biogràfics sobre Dorothea Lange i la història darrere de la foto).
- Altres fotògrafes contemporànies:
Marion Post Wolcott (1910-1990): va ser la primera dona a la qual se li va oferir un treball com a fotògrafa a temps complet per a la Farm Security Administration.
Louise Rosskam (1910-2003): va fotografiar Washington DC i Vermont, centrant-se en la justícia racial.
Marjory Collins (1912-1985): va fotografiar les vides d'Afroamericans, jueus i immigrants, entre altres.
Berenice Abbott (1898-1991): va documentar els canvis a la ciutat de Nova York, prestant especial atenció a com les infraestructures afecten la vida quotidiana dels éssers humans.
Altres dones fotògrafes, pertanyents a altres moviments artístics, van anar Imogen Cunningham (1883-1976), Kati Horna (1912-2000) o Tina Modotti (1896-1942), així com Gerda Taro (1910-1937), a Europa.
